Location:           Taking Exit 16 off Interstate 10, the entry point of the Diamondhead community is located 12 miles north of Bay St. Louis in Hancock County, Mississippi. Diamondhead is 58 miles east of New Orleans and 87 miles west of Mobile, Alabama.

                          Located south of the Interstate is Diamondhead’s marina, yacht club, airstrip, numerous residences and business establishments.

                          The majority of Diamondhead is located north of the Interstate. There you will find a shopping center, retirement home, postal unit, fire station, water and sewer system, a variety of businesses, churches, a country club, golf courses, swimming pools, community center, library and homes.


Security:            Diamondhead has a private security force on duty 24 hours each day. Diamondhead is also under the jurisdiction of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department.


Fire Protection: A full time professional fire department with top fire fighting equipment is located within the community.

School:       Diamondhead is in the Hancock County School System.
 The public school was completed in 1999. School bus service is available. The new Junior-Senior High School is composed of four buildings, each housing a specific primary area: High School, Administration, Guidance, Media, Junior High School, Commons Area, Athletics, Food Service, Vocational-Technical Training and Music. It features central air conditioning and heating. The cafeteria is designed to seat 450 students. The school is designed to accommodate future growth patterns of up to 3,000 students.  Each of the educational buildings has the most up-to- date Library has second floor mezzanine for specific media activities. The Library also expands to double the resource area. A general-purpose football practice/ soccer field, football field, tennis courts, softball and baseball field provide the perfect setting for physical education activities.

Banks:                Three full service banks are located in the Diamondhead commercial area.

Shopping:          Diamondhead Shopping Plaza offers all immediate shopping needs: Builder’s supply, supermarket, pharmacy, gift shop, laundry, dry cleaning, dress shop, liquor store, beauty shop, restaurant, and video store.

Other businesses within the commercial area include convenience stores, gas stations, health spa, motel, attorney’s offices, music studio, office supplies, landscaping, florist, child daycare, video rental, building contractors, veterinarian, hardware stores, boat sales, realtors, computer training, home mortgage company, physical therapists and cable TV.

Major shopping malls and outlet malls are located less than an hour away in Slidell, Louisiana and Biloxi and Gulfport, Mississippi.

Medical:            Diamondhead Fire Department maintains emergency medical equipment and personnel. Also located within Diamondhead are dental offices, doctor’s offices, a retirement home and a physical therapy office.

Dining:             Dining is offered at both the Diamondhead Country Club and the Yacht Club. Diamondhead boasts a variety of restaurants offering down home American favorites and Chinese cuisine as well. Fast food carryout dining is also available.

Club and Organizations: 
The Diamondhead community has a Rotary Club, a   Business and Professional association, Art Guild, Newcomers Club, Garden Club, Bridge Club, Boater’s Club, Yacht Club Tennis Club, Men and Women’s Golf Club, Swim Club, Mardi Gras Krewe, Square Dance Club, Senior Citizen’s Club, AARP, Little Theater, Youth Organization, various support groups and numerous other civic and social organizations.

Recreation:        Golf (two 18-hole courses and pro shop), tennis, swimming, boating, fresh and saltwater fishing, bicycle riding lanes, gardening, two walking trails, picnic areas, and lakeside pavilion. Long term boat and R.V. storage.
